And A New Adventure Begins...

Well, I can't believe it is already here! The day that I move to Salzburg, Austria. I say "I" because Jason is already there. He left nearly two weeks ago and is already starting to somewhat adjust. Later today I will hop on a plane to Munich, where Jason will pick me up from the airport. Then, we are off to go furniture shopping. Hopefully I won't be too crabby from my lack of sleep from the 8 hour flight and jet lag. I don't think I will be since I am so excited to see J! Seriously, I am so excited about tomorrow that I can't sleep. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.

While we've been away from each other, Jason has sent me a ton of emails and several pictures of the happenings in Austria. Here are a couple of the pictures. The first is a pic of our car in the snow. The car that I currently can't drive because it is a stick. It looks like German isn't the only thing I will be learning in Salzburg.

Here is a view from Jason's office earlier this week. I guess I better get used to the fact that we are no longer in an island paradise. It's ok, it will now be our winter wonderland. I can't wait to go skiing!!

While I've enjoyed my time home with family and friends, I am so ready to build our home in Austria. It will be so nice to unpack our bags and stay a while.

Beifall!

Many more blogs to come...

Jack in a Nutshell

I realized that I do not blog about Jack nearly enough. In fact, some of you readers might not even know who he is. Jack is the other love of my life, my 4 lb. yorkie/chihuahua mix. He is 5 years old (his birthday is March 22) and was my early 21st birthday present. Jack has been a huge part of my life, moving to Carrollton, Kennesaw, Cumming and two places in Alpharetta with me. Soon, we will be adding Salzburg, Austria to that list. Unfortunately, not as soon as I hoped.

In order to move a dog into the EU, there is a ton of paperwork to fill out and shots that have to be given to Jack, among other things. While home for Christmas, I took Jack to the vet for a tune up- shots, teeth cleaning, insertion of an international chip, nails clipped and all. While there, I learned that he had to have had the shots in less than a year but no less than a month. Although I stayed in the US longer than planned and could have worked it out, Jason and I decided to leave him with my parents until after the wedding. Here's why:
1. We are coming home for our wedding in May and for Christmas and don't want to stress Jack out with too many long flights.
2. Our apartment is currently unfurnished and we will be staying in a hotel for several days when I first arrive.
3. Jack hates the snow and is already going to freak about being in a new place without his "sisters" (Mom's dogs).
Although I am super sad about this, I know it is the best decision for him. At least we won't be gone too long without him. He is seriously the best dog ever.

Here are some oldies but goodies of Jack:

Boo!

Did I scare you? I'm sure you are wondering where I have been hiding!

As you can probably guess, I have been super busy! I have been home since right before Christmas but swear I haven't had a free moment. It is so very hard for me to keep up with my blog when I am home because I am always running around like a chicken with my head cut off- trying to catch up with family and friends and trying to get as much wedding stuff done as possible.

Here's what we've been up to this year so far:

The first week of the year I was super sick with the flu and a horrific sinus infection, which you would know if you have been keeping up with my blog. As soon as I was feeling better, we got snowed in for three days. It's funny because I kept hearing about everyone who had cabin fever for three days and couldn't go anywhere. I had it big time since I was already home for a full week prior. Needless to say, I was ready to get out of the house for the weekend. Ok, I lied... I went out for a little bit the weekend before the storm hit but was still feeling like crap. We went to Matt and Christina's and had a blast... and were in bed before midnight. Haha!

On Saturday, January 15th, my best friend Jessica threw Jason and I a His and Her's Couples Shower. We had a blast. Some of my family from Ohio and my best friend Ashley from New York came in town and we had sooo much fun! We went out three nights in a row. I felt like I was on spring break in college again. I am still recovering, by the way.

Jason left on Monday for Salzburg and I will be following him next Friday. My to-do list is a mile long, as I have to finish packing and set up our stuff to be shipped, along with wedding plans, blahblahblah. Jason has been gone for only 3 days but it feels like it's been forever! I already miss him like crazy... sad, I know! We are just so used to being with each other 24/7 so it definitely throws us off when we are away from each other for so long. Ok, end rant... don't want to make any of you sick! ;) I still have a bunch to get done before I officially move to Salzburg but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, finally!

In other random news, I finally made Gold with my Delta skymiles. I signed up for the program when we left in April. Just goes to show how much we really fly. I am super stoked about this by the way. I know, I'm a nerd. A nerd with drink tickets, might I add. ;)

Well, sorry you caught me in such a crazy mood. I love you all and will be posting a lot more frequently and will keep you updated about our move to Salzburg. Just to tease you, Jason picks up our car tomorrow at the dealership. Can you guess what it is? I'll take a picture when I get there! Cheers!! :)

Happy New Year!

I know I am a week late but I hope you will understand. On New Years Eve our friends Christina and Matt came over to my parent's house for dinner. At around 7pm, I started to feel sick with body aches, the chills, etc. I did not want this to ruin my evening, so I kept trucking along. Matt and Christina ended up leaving around 10:30pm and I fell asleep on the couch shortly thereafter. I woke up 5 minutes before the ball dropped, toasted champagne with Jason and the fam, then we went right upstairs to bed. The next morning, lo and behold, I woke up with the flu. I stayed in bed for 2 1/2 days (and by in bed, I mean downstairs on the couch in front of the big TV). After my flu started to retreat, I ended up getting a terrible sinus infection. After having it for 3 days, I then lost my voice for 2. I think you can see where I am going with this. Yesterday was the first day this year that I actually felt myself again and could talk. I am still taking all my meds but feel so much better than I did last week. Hopefully this isn't a sign as to what my New Year will be like. Again, sorry for not blogging sooner.

The day before New Years (Dec. 30th), my friends Christina, Emily and I had a girls night. We went out to dinner and then out to a bar and had so much fun. I am so blessed to have these girls in my life. They seriously are THE BEST!!

2010 brought so many surprises, blessings, laughs, and good times. I just know that 2011 is going to be even better!

Here are some things I am looking forward to in 2011:
1. Marrying my best friend, Jason.
2. Moving to Salzburg, Austria on Jan. 17th.
3. Spending time with my family and friends.
4. My nephew turning 1!
5. Exploring Europe!
6. Oktoberfest in Munich.
7. Having visitors in Salzburg.
8. Having Jack live with us again since he couldn't come to Singapore.
9. Learning German.
10. Making new friends all over the world.

So... better late than never... HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!! I wish you all nothing but happiness and blessings this year. XOXO
